That band from Finland builds its sound on stunning multi-part harmonies, catchy and melodic songwriting and an unashamedly retro production style. Combining pop, country and folk influences, the band draws its inspiration primarily from the hit music of the 1970s to 1990s. 

Formed in 2023, That band from Finland comprises four singer-musicians of diverse ages and backgrounds, whose voices blend together in a way that has seldom been heard in Nordic pop music in the age of autotune. Milana Maria is a young up-and-coming singer whose phenomenal soul voice has already elicited comparisons to classic stars such as Etta James and Aretha Franklin. 

The band's newest member, Linda-Maria Anttila, is a professional singer, vocal coach and freelance musician with a love for country, soul and roots music.   

The vocal sound of the group is filled out by the lyrical melodies of Dagmar Õunap, who is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter hailing from the city of Viljandi, Estonia. In addition to her own career as an artist, Dagmar's work includes choir directing, heading ukulele courses, and gigging as both a solo and ensemble performer. 

The fourth member of the ensemble is Finnish-American Tom Coldwater, who also serves as the band's producer and principal songwriter. Coldwater is the musical alias of director and producer Thomas Freundlich, who is a highly experienced multi-skilled professional in stage and audiovisual production, as well as one of Finland's most awarded short film directors. Alongside his screen and performing arts work, he has over 25 years of experience in composing, producing and recording music for short films, documentaries and stage productions, in styles ranging from Nordic folk tones to ambient electronic opera for leading Finnish contemporary opera company Opera Skaala. 

In June 2025, That Band from Finland's song Catch of the Day won the award for Finland's Best Country Song 2025. The band's debut album Right Here Until We Ain't was released in October 2025, and the band is currently gigging primarily as an acoustic ensemble while focusing strongly on building an international audience alongside its native Nordic and Baltic homebase.
